Restore the Lighthouses....

The other day, we drove around the north of Aruba, which we seldom do.

This is the tourist and rich people area, we are generally on the other (poorer) side of the island where we minister to the homeless and prostitutes. …. The real Caribbean, that the magazines and influencers don’t share anything about. The forgotten Ones of society.

Anyhow, there in the north of the island, stands a big lighthouse and it is the background of many tourists  holiday photos, because from around there you have a great view over the rich part of the island.

The white beaches the beautiful blue waters the huge resorts and golfing resorts… beautiful.

But right now this lighthouse is being renovated. There is an ugly scaffold around it, So like this, not many tourists will choose the lighthouse as a background for their photo memories.

Of course the purpose of the lighthouse hasn't changed and never was to be the picture background for pleasure seekers, or to be the landmark of the rich & tourism area of the land.

Its original purpose was to give orientation to the ships around. To protect them from crashing.

When I see the broken lighthouse many things come to my mind.

Who am I as a light to the nations?

How is it going with us, the salt and light???

Are we still the orientation point of our society or have we become a nice accessory to the rich and influencers… A pretty landmark that just fits well into the general vanity of life???

But also, is there a restoration process going on?

Is God rebuilding us into our original purpose, calling us back into our destiny?

To be a lighthouse to the nations?

I believe so.

It is happening!

A desire, an awakening and a hunger is rising that won't be quenched by the vanity of life, but only by the One who is the Life and who wants to once again breathe His life into us and through us to the nations!

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life.
