It is everywhere,

around us, 

inside of us....

The calm before the storm.

The desire before the satisfaction.

the dusk before the dawn.

The bird singing before the sunrise.

The sunset before the dark.

The kingdom that is here and is to come. 

The hunt before the kill.

All creation is waiting in eager expectation for the mature sons of God to be revealed in His glory.

We are in this season of advent.... a "special season" ??? Or one of many ???

Advent but not yet Christmas.

Waiting...

waiting

Those who wait will receive new strength

Those who wait will renew their youth

Those who wait will fly up on eagles wings

Those who wait will ......wait

Waiting, not in despair but in expectation.

A hope deferred, makes the heart sick

The tension between expectation and despair. How far do we have to wait before it becomes despair.... or is it just about the way  I wait? not how long or intense??? or is the answer implied in the word waiting? 

 

All creation is waiting

 

It involves us all. It involves everything.

The author and fulfiller of our faith. 

100 % Him, 100% us

 

in eager expectation

 

its an expectation with a strong desire to be fulfilled. 

eager.....

deep hunger

When God breathed his Spirit into the nose of Adam, he became a living soul. 

The Hebrew word for a "living soul' can also be translated as an "eternal appetite" 

This is who we are, by design. 

An eternal appetite..... longing for eternity, while trapped in this limitation of body soul and spirit. 

 

the revelation of the mature sons of God

 

revelation, not solution.

 

We often think that we wait for things to become good. If this and this will happen.... then all will be well... if , if , if.... our problems will be solved. Sickness will be healed..... things to be made right.

And there is a promise for that in the end. 

There will be a day, when there will be no more suffering or death and all tears will be wiped away.....The iron g will be made right. But not yet.

Not yet...

And even though.  

We are living in the in between.

where the glory is being revealed in the midst of the imperfection. 

The revelation does not solve the problem, but it reveals the One who is the answer, the author.              The source and the ocean..... 

Christ in us, the hope of glory.  

Christ in the midst of the mess.

merry Christ mess!

 

However, this is not the absolute, as there is also: Today ! 

Today is the day of healing and salvation

Today is the day that the Lord has made

Today when you listen to His voice, do not harden your heart.

Again.

Tension between the Now and the later.

Between the "be healed" and "not yet"

"Get up and walk" and "wait on the Lord oh my soul"

Where is the dividing line? where is the discernment of the times? 

Do we need to align with an eternal timeline or does one heart align eternity? 

According to your faith it shall be done unto you? 

Faith is a gift of God.

Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.....

There is one Author, one who writes, one Lord, one Holy Spirit, One father over all. 

What is the nature or reality? "It is done" or "work out your salvation in fear and trembling"

"Without me you can do nothing" this may be much deeper then where we wanna go on a beautiful Monday morning....

Maybe there is no tension between the "God does everything and I do nothing' and the "if I don't do it, nothing happens" or maybe this tension is the very fabric of reality in which we are invited to rest?
